Specifications
The PMC613, a high performance PCI-bus motion controller, is built to generate pulse control signals up to 8 MHz and control 4 axes stepping or digital servo systems.
The motion controller provides trapezoidal and S-curve velocity profiles acceleration or deceleration, circular interpolation between any two axes, linear interpolation between 2~4 axes, and continuous interpolation with velocity continuity in multi-axes operation. In single axis operation, position and speed on the fly are adaptable. It offers 13 home return modes. Since these functions are processed internally on the ASIC, the computer's CPU is fully applied to supervise and perform other tasks.
Multiple PMC613 controllers can be combined in one computer. Incremental encoder interface on all four axes enables the controller to correct positioning errors generated by inaccurate mechanical transmissions. With the on-board FIFO, the PMC613 performs precise and extremely fast position comparison and triggers function without consuming CPU resource. In addition, mechanical sensor interface, servo motor interface and general-purpose I/O signals are provided for system integration.
PMC613 demo software, based on Windows OS, supports application development. It provides the controller with the ability to verify and test a motion control system during the design phase of a project. Besides this demo software, a Windows version function library (DLL) is included for programmers using VB/VC/C++ Builder/LabVIEW programming languages. Several sample programs are given to illustrate how to use the function library in Windows XP/7.
